The Comics & Webtoon Society of Korea is the result of efforts to develop Korean comics and webtoons by gathering professors, lecturers, graduate students, experts, and companies who have been working on domestic and overseas comics research and education.

It was launched in January 2021 as Korea's only academic organization specializing in comics and webtoons.

Through The Comics Education Forum in 2007 and The Korea Comics Policy Institute in 2017, we have been carrying out numerous reports and research projects, and according to the need of a professional academic conference, the institute will start anew as a corporation.

We will continue to strive for the development of Korean comics and webtoons research, education and industry through high-quality research and internationalization exchange by domestic and foreign professional researchers.
